Low-Water Desert Gardening
Update your low-water container garden by mixing in succulents such as Echevaria, Sedum, and Hens and Chicks. When paired with a stunning hand-made metal planter, you will achieve a beautiful contemporary look.
Although succulents are indigenous to humid seaside landscapes, these elegant plants can thrive in the hot, dry climate of Utah or other desert surroundings. The fundamentals are lots of sunlight and proper watering.
Place your succulent container garden in a warm sunny spot on your patio or near a south-facing window indoors for optimal plant health. Plant care is simple – as long as your planter provides adequate drainage. Also make sure to use a rocky soil that allows the water to drain quickly. It is important to water abundantly in the hot summer months, but reduce watering in the winter. A good fertilizer will keep the plant looking its best, but fertilizing is only necessary in the hottest months.
Drainage options are available for the modern plant containers at the YardCouture.com store. Call or email if you have any questions about which planter drainage option is right for you.
